KeymasterAsia Education Foundation http://www.asiaeducation.edu.au/home I came upon this sight while researching how I can insert more lessons about Asia in my classroom. The Australian Asia Education Foundation has provided a great sight for educators to get lessons and amazing ideas. Their whole purpose is “Asia Education Foundation (AEF) provides school leaders, teachers and schools with curriculum resources, professional learning, innovative programs and networks to develop Asia capability for Foundation to Year 12 students in Australian schools.” There are many tabs that answer tons of questions and give lots of resources. The first tab is curriculum, Under that tab, every subject is listed and under those subjects lessons to incorporate into your classroom. When I clicked on English there were lessons, ideas, art etc. It was quite amazing. There were tabs for every subject you could think of. The next tab was professional Learning. This tab provides toolkits and a lot of information about how to be a certified teacher in teaching Asian studies. This was awesome because it provided support and advancement for anyone who wanted to grow in this knowledge. Programs was the next tab. This provided information for study programs in Asia, teaching global programs, providing opportunities to connect with other schools in Asia and finally a network for teachers to connect. The next few tabs were labeled Parents, research, and e news and events. These share their partnership with parents and backs up their program with research. This is the statement of the sight. “What we do ● Support teachers with curriculum resources and professional learning to teach the Australian Curriculum. ● Equip school leaderswith whole school programs, networks and professional learning to develop globally competent and Asia ready students in their school ● Engage parentsto explore how Asia capabilities may be essential to their child’s future.” Their focus is awesome : “Asia capability means that every student will exit schooling in Australia with knowledge and understanding of the histories, geographies, arts and literature of the diverse countries of Asia. Asia capability is strengthened in students who also learn an Asian language” I book marked this sight and am excited to borrow some ideas.
