This isn't exactly a web resource (although there is an associated blog post & show notes on the corresponding website), but I didn't know where else to put it. This is one of my favorite, go-to podcasts. There are 19 shows dedicated to Asian topics. Most recently featured is China & Japan after the Doolittle Raid (although I didn't listen to this one as it was described & forewarned as being graphic).
These are well-researched with accompanying notes & as previously mentioned, if there are segments of the show that are inappropriate for classroom use, there are warnings.
There is a nice mixture of historical events, biographies, and cultural topic: Asian influences on the colonies, The artist Hokusai, The Crown Prince Sado of Korea,
Sei Shonagon and the Heian Court describing court life in Japan, The Boxer Rebellion, Empress Cix are amongst some of the topics covered.
I'd like to begin using podcasts in my lessons. Either in the classroom as brief lectures, assigning them supplemental homework, or having students create their own podcasts presenting themselves as the "expert" sharing their researched ideas & presenting them as stories.
