I found East Asia Forum portal to be a great aid for students and teacher as well, because it provides updated reliable information about East Asian countries. Their articles are very interesting and easy to read for high school students. Among the topics you can find: economics, security, financial crisis, China-Japan relations, United States and Asia, US-Japan alliance, etc…This website is a helpful tool for any history teacher, their archives are great. You can find pretty much anything in there.

I did a search on one-child policy and found over 180 articles that go from explaining the policy to the current impact on gender inequality. If we have our students writing paper East Asia they can definitely start their research here.
