I found the Library of Congress website to have the best potential for student use. Its design is modern and user friendly. All I had to do was type “China” into the easy to find search box and I was quickly looking at numerous articles. It even included a category box with a drop arrow for advanced searching. I chose the subcategory “film”. Within a minute I was looking at an 1898 film called “Parade of Chinese” copyrighted by Thomas Edison. Basically, this website is easy to use and has immense resources. Those are two extremely positives attributes needed to keep the attention of middle school students.

Great source. I have used this in my history classes for several years.
