I accidentally posted the same picture twice and left this group out. My students said "are we going to be famous in china?" When I told them I was posting their presentation photos. Just famous among a group of teachers at SC, sweet kids!

I think this was a very creative way to get students to think about China and it's importance in the world economy. I can see this being done for our English Language learners at our school. I think I would add a visual component to it. This would allow another modality for the artistic and visual learners in the class. It looks like your students enjoyed the activity. What grade were the students?

I recently added an "East Asia" inspired project to my curriculum on imperialism. Students had to create group presentations on the U.S. foreign policy with China. Then they had to develop metaphor statements to describe the policy with the nation. This was the most difficult aspect of the project for the students to operationalize their learning. I will post photos of their presentations.
