I found an amazing site for middle school teachers to use to teach about the history of China. This site has three main sections.
On the left, there is a table of contents that lists history topics. I picked "China" history.
In the middle section, there are vocabulary words like dynasty, Confucius, Legalists, Taoism, Great Wall, Genghis Khan, Silk Road, and Marco Polo. These words are listed from top to bottom and are in chronological order, which is helpful to understanding history.
On the right side of the page there is an extensive timeline which has a list of each dynasty. When you click on one it has detailed information about that family. This is very helpful now because students have CHROMEBOOKS to conduct research. Students can research a topic and create a GOOGLE slides presentation to share with the class. This website is easy for students to read because the text is large, the links are organized, and the colors are bright.
The BEST part of the website is the interactive QUIZ. I took the quiz and was stumped a few times. It was ok though because I was allowed to ask for hints by clicking on the "HINT" button. The quiz also had a CHECK button and an ANSWER button. It is purely designed to practice answering questions. There is no pressure because you do not get a grade.
