I would like to know the format of our debate. How will it work? Are members from each group going to present their views/thoughts first and then other groups ask questions? Or will two groups debate on certain topics at a time, such as human nature and education?

I need more information to prepare for this.

I really enjoyed our debate on Confucianism, Mohism, Taoism, and Legalism and thought that it stimulated a deeper understanding of these philosophies, at least on my part.

I tried a modified version of this debate in my World geography class, which I have two periods of, and it worked well in one and just so so in another. I didn't give too much prep time and used a jigsaw approach and split the readings among the class and had them fill out the chart according to their philosophy and share the rest with the class. Overall the class that had more students got more into it and a true debate followed wheres my smaller class just viewed it as an assignment/task. I will certainly try it again with more tweaking. Good activity for an older class.
