I made a point to watch Globe Trekker last week....the traveler began her journey in Shanghai where she visited an old part of the city and bought a "Mao watch" and visited an acrobatic school where it hurt to watch the youngsters in such contortions..I realize how little I know about China's geography as she progressed to Suzhou (silk center), the Yangtze River, then Chongquing (China's third largest city and the provisional capitol during WWII)---eating live eel was a bit hard to watch but the world's largest "line dancing" after hours looked like fun....finally on to Xi'an (very, very old city) that has a sizeable Muslim population - probably dating from the time of the merchants of the Silk Road....a well spent hour.
