I have known of a charter school in Los Angeles which brings its students to field trips to Shaolin Temple several times. The principal himself practice martial arts. I think the visit of monks to the USC enhances understanding between cultures. What is shown in Kung Fu movies can be explained or even demonstrated first hand.

On Monday, Nov. 20, 2007The USC U.S. - China Institute http://china.usc.edu is hosting a delegation from China's Shaolin Temple. The Temple's abbot will speak on Shaolin and the 21st century and will take questions from the audience. Following the presentation, other monks will offer a martial arts demonstration.

Please visit the events section of the U.S. - China Institute.[Edit by="Clay Dube on Nov 11, 5:02:25 PM"][/Edit]
