Recently I attended a 2 day workshop with the Go For Broke educational Center. Part of the workshop included a field trip to Little Tokyo and a visit to the Japanese American Musem, and an exhibit at the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy.
I was able to visit an historic Buddhist temple in a triangular shape that is now used as an interactive and high tech lab.
The National Center for the Preservation of Democracy wants to educated schools about the effects of World War II and the discrimination, and inhuman treatment that Japanese Americans suffered, including imprisonment and lost of all possessions, while encouraging to understand each other and speak up for democracy.
They offer FREE buses for teachers to take classes to see the exhibit. All is needed it to attend a short orientation. You will also get a free box with videos and lesson plans.
