Sally good work.
I really like your unit launch activity, its a way of engaging your students and assessing them at the same time.
Also the way you use the homework for students to search for articles on east Asia then have them post it on your bulletin board.
I am doing my lesson as we speak, so as I finish mine I will add more comments about yours.
My lesson plan and bullet points.
Attached are my bullet points on the important items that we should cover in our presentation. My detailed lesson plans have been attached. I am reserve the right to resubmit another version tonight.
I hope I am putting it into the right place. Ratz its open source, it night not open. I will reload it as a word document.

Attached is the link to my Prezi Presentation:

1) I couldn't 'attach' the prezi here as a file, so I made it public
2) Since it is now public,I had to delete some of my students' photos (sorry guys!)
Since I deleted my students' photos from my Prezi presentation, added here for US-China Institute use only.
Should I hide the information of the authentic letters I posted in the Prezi? (they are real phone numbers!!)

Here is the link to the National counseling standards that I spoke of on Sunday.
My lesson plan is incorporating standards within both the Academic and Personal/Social domains.

Thanks Clay. i will work on breaking the other one into smaller segments
While it is my sincere hope and grave concern, especially after visiting China and Taiwan and having time to interact with locals and acquire a greater understating and appreciation for the history, culture, and people of both nations, that war between China and Taiwan is avoided and that a peaceful and equitable resolution suitable for both nations is the final outcome of this chapter in Taiwanese-Chinese history, this lesson is meant to give students an opportunity to grapple with the difficult decisions that the United States must face in the event that such a tragic event unfolds. As a framework and keeping with California state standards, students will use standard 11.3 as a lens through which they can evaluate what role America should take in the event of such a war. While any fault or short comings found within this unit are strictly my own, its inspiration and resources as well as any merit of this unit are totally due to the generosity of the Freeman Foundation, the People of China and Taiwan, and of course our constant mentor Clay Dube who immensely and tirelessly works to create a deeper and richer understanding of East Asia and its relationship to the United States in the hopes that classroom teachers like myself bring back this knowledge to our students.
