    Hi Folks,
Not all of the presentations can be uploaded, for reasons of size, to the forum. We'll do what we can and may look for another workaround as well.

    Hi Folks,

Below is Lu Lu's presentation on going to school in Shanghai. Her school, by the way, sent students to be part of the Philadelphia Orchestra's visit to the Shanghai Expo.

By the way, Lu Lu sent this note our way:

now I remember the old slogan from my middle school and added that into the ppt, which is, 求真 (find truth)勤思 (think hard) 惜时 (save time) 健美 (keep fit)...

Just came across some reviews of the Taiwanese film "Yi Yi: A One and a Two" (Edward Yang).
    Has anyone viewed it?
Along with much use of Taipei locations, it reportedly has insights into Taiwanese culture, especially in its relation to Chinese and Japanese culture.
I'm going to try to view it next week.

Many consider Yi Yi to be one of the great Chinese films of all time. It has a pace that's all its own. Edward Yang was a hugely influential director. The director of Cape No. 7 which we screened at the orientation worked for Yang and learned much from him.

Please do share your assessment of the film in the Film Festival section of the Asia in My Classroom forum:

We get to see family life, often through the eyes of the young son.

Ebert and Roeper comment on the film:

Here's a different YouTube clip featuring a conversation between the Japanese and Chinese businessmen.
