KeymasterHello everyone,
We are thinking about having another get together for the NorCal folks up here in the Bay Area before we head to China. Of course SoCal people are welcome if they can make the trek up here....well Dodgersfans excluded of course.
Maybe we could all meet in San Francisco some time after school is out? At ST we finish the second week of June and I am assuming it's roughly the same for the rest of you all.Karen suggested going to a ball game and I am sure she meant a GIANTS game, sorry a's fans but I think the Giants play the A's at some point so maybe that's a possibility. If nothing else maybe lunch? another dinner? or definitely drinks!
Let us know what you think,

Guest😀 Come to think of it, it would be nice to see folks down here before we go...anyone else up for it? Of course, as the time draws near, things will get very busy. But, maybe dinner at a central location the Tuesday or Wednesday evening before we go might work?[Edit by="akaminsky on May 13, 5:29:20 PM"][/Edit]

GuestGood idea Alison....want to organize it!!! I'll help get the word out. Maybe we should include spouses and/or partners.
Pick out a location and date. Long Beach is a good location.... jonathan

GuestWhat the heck!!??! The Giant (loser) fans are hijacking the NorCal group and the SoCal group is hijacking our idea (I think they need to post on their own forum). I'm both an A's and Dodger fan from NorCal and I'd love to go see the Giants hit into another rally killing double play. Please open your minds to some great pitching at an A's game as a possible get together. The A's Giants series starts the night before we leave for China...Not a good idea. Remember to tell Barry "It don't mean a thing if you ain't got that ring."

GuestWell I guess I should rename the thread Dodger Haters or NorCal Only....oh well glad to hear North & South will be gettign together that way we'll both have stories to tell. I saw those A's - Giants games on the schedule too....I will likely go the night before we leave to get my fill of baseball before takeoff so let me know if anyone else is interested. The KABOOM fireworks extravaganza is in San Francisco this weekend if that interests anyone otherwise how about targeting the middle of June (15th, 16 or 17th) as we should all be done with grades and kids and can celebrate that as well as the impending trip!
I know a few places in the Chinatown -North Beach area and we can walk through C-town practice reading the Chinese menus in the windows and then go eat Italian. GA

GuestHi Everyone,
Yes, and evening together would be great, though to be truthful I'm not positive I can make it. We have friends coming in from Australia on the 15th and staying for a while, so it would depend on when it was planned.
I emailed Jonathan this morning to ask about returning after China, since we will be flying into LA . Greg, I assume you're staying on, so this probably doesn't concern you. I'm trying to find out exactly when our flight comes into LA, so we can plan the closest flight back up here. I'll keep you posted when I hear.

GuestOkay our departure date is nearing so I am suggesting JUNE 17th as our get together day...to hash out any ideas, concerns etc. and just hang out. My suggestion of course includes a GIANTS GAME, they play at 12:30 in the afternoon against Toronto and my weatherman instincts tell me a day game in PacBell would be ideal for relaxing and catching up while catching a game. We could meet for lunch before or just eat in the park they have seating for picnics behind the outfield and Ed and I can go down the Coca-Cola Slide before teh game. Other suggestions are welcome...... Let me know if you are in and I can arrange a block of tickets.

GuestSBC on June 17th sounds good to me. I love day games and watching the Giants lose (don't get too giddy about the win streak, remember they're no longer going to be playing the only 3 teams worse than them).
8) (6)Tell Shelly to bring the Aussies with her. I prefer eating at the old ballpark. It's part of the experience. But when did sliding down corporate symbols become part of the ballpark experience?

GuestI have to work that week - but the idea of going to Pac Bell is appealing - I've never been there. I think it's going to be the LA airport before I see everyone.

So the 17th came and went...it also happened to be my birthday and I would have loved getting together; however, I was swamped with school commitments and did not even know that you all had set a date and time. I am so sorry that I missed you and Ed (I got your email, Ed).Can we try ONE more time this week (Wed-Friday???) I am up for another ballgame A's or Giants and another idea is to meet at the S.F. Asian Art museum for lunch and some culture. I am also willing to host a gathering at my "housesitting" pad in Saratoga, but that's a long haul for East Bay folks. Let me know. Please include my home email [email protected] or call me 408-741-7060.
Thanks!

GuestIt's crunch time for me making final arragements before our big trip...house & kitty sitters, getting bills paid, final purchases, laundry, packing, & farewells. So, I doubt if I can do a get together this week. Thanks for trying Karen. Better late than never.
