Another Chinese dissident, economist Mao Yushi, arrived in the United States on Wednesday. Mao received the Milton Friedman Prize for economics on Friday. The award was presented by the Cato Institute. Mao is a controversial figure in China because of his criticisms of Mao Zedong and the Chinese Communist Party. Right-wing Maoists have recently called for Mao's arrest for criticizing Mao Zedong and the Communist Party. Interestingly enough, Mao said former Chongqing party chief Bo Xilai's downfall would help to improve rights in China and lead to big changes. So maybe the Chinese Communist Party did a good thing by getting rid of Bo Xilai. I'm curious, did they realize what they were doing?
