    Once again, last night was full of new information about Japan and well presented. Some of the facts that impressed me was the number of years that we, the USA, occupied Japan and how we wrote their independence. It is also interesting how we influence the japanese youth in the years after the end of the war. This gives me ideas on how to used history to engage my students in my teaching.

    Many of my students are anime fans. So sometimes I have them learn more about it -- it's history - cross cultural connections. Some of my students draw anime style. I do have the advantage of teaching all subjects so once I find that a student is interested is something like this I can find some subject area that will fit.
