    Michael E. ROBINSON, Korea’s Twentieth-Century Odyssey (Honolulu: University of Hawai’i Press, 2007).
Textbook provides brief overview of modern Korean history.
Suggestion: excerpt on Korean War, 114-120.

The selections from KOREA'S TWENTIETH CENTURY ODYSSEY described the events leading to and the actions involved with the what we in the US call the Korean War (1950-1953). This selection also described the outcomes of what is still impacting US relations with North and South Korea. I had studied the Korean Conflict before, but mainly from a military standpoint. This selection by Michael E. Robinson gave me a much better understanding of the political ramifications of these events.
