On March 21, 2008 The Los Angeles Times reported that instead of broadening human rights in China, as they promised prior to receiving the 2008 Olympic bid, the Central government has been curtailing the Chinese people's limited human rights and arresting "dissidents" (anyone who voices diagreement with the Central government's position).
In the latest effort to suppress free expression the Central government has ordered the closing of more than 25 video-sharing websites and "warned" over two dozen others.
