The Images of East Asia workshop was entertaining, as well as informative. I appreciated the overview of all the films by the three knowledgeable presenters, particularly, Donald Clark's Movies as a Window on Korea. Multimedia does bring what students read in class alive in a way that may not be possible, otherwise. The challenge for teachers is to take the films we discussed, and to utilize them purposely and strategically to integrate them into a coherent framework to support student learning. As an elementary teacher, this process becomes more difficult as much of the subject matter is very complex in these films.
