KeymasterThe Korea Society is offering Middle and High School educators the chance to participate in a Summer Fellowship on Korean culture and history. The trip is 14 days long with expenses paid. For more information, look at http://www.koreasociety.org You fill out the application online. What a great experience to continue our gaining knowledge on Korea!

GuestSounds interesting, I didn't see it on the website (maybe I didn't look closely enough) but:
Is there a application deadline listed somewhere on the site?

GuestHey Mr Wilson,
I believe this is your link:

I'm pretty sure we are not eligible though, because it states clearly that it is open to 2001-2009 alumni only. But next year......

GuestIt sounds absolutely fabulous! I think a year is an acceptable wait for such a fantastic trip.

GuestThat would be great! Do they offer these trips every year? and is it only for middle and high school teachers? What about us primary teachers!

I am hoping to visit my student teacher after she moves to Korea. She is teaching at a school in Songdo. It is a completely new planned city. The school she will be teaching in is beautiful. It looks like a new modern but small, college.

GuestRegardless of the organized trips, it seems that there are quite a few teachers around the south bay who sign up for short teaching assignments in the summer. a fellow pvhs teacher just found out that he got a 4 week teaching position assignment for late July-early August. Sure sounds fun!

GuestIt would be great if they were able to accommodate us elementary school teachers. After learning so much in this seminar, the natural next step seems to be a visit to Korea, or Japan, or China. I hear these countries are always trying to recruit American teachers to teach english for a year or so.

GuestBrian, do you know what agency your friend will be working for? What country will he/she be gong to? It would be interesting to find out if he thinks it was worthwhile when he returns.
