I went to see all the Asian art at the museum. The museum has many pieces of Asian art, not very focused on East Asia. I saw some of the works from Nepal and Tibet, and China. There are a lot of works from Thailand and the India subcontinent however you can find Buddha’s of China. There are many of Tibet as well. The work is all sculptures there aren't any picture works. The museum does have some Japanese artwork, but you can only view it online they are not posted. The collection is great though, the whole bottom level is of Asian art. I learned a great deal from the sculptures, especially the significance of the hands of the Buddha. Like some of showing no fear or coming in peace, and welcoming etc. The docents are also very knowledgable and helpful.

Where is this museum located? Would you recommend going to this museum or skip it for more with a better Asian themed exhibit?

Same question, where is the museum? Was the collection like what I would find at the Pacific Asia Museum or more varied?

The museum is the one on the corner of Orange Grove and Colorado in Pasadena. It appears on the turn as the Rose Parade floats go by I think its 8 dollars for adults, free for students with ID.

I took my students after we studied India and China. Because of all the great religious artifacts it was great. The tour may be lengthy though. We planned going to Rose Bowl park to eat lunch but it rained that day.[Edit by="mari_montes on Feb 11, 1:46:45 PM"][/Edit]
