    Hi everyone,

Attached are the library grant guidelines again for your information.

For those of you requesting a pre-selected library grant package, the hyperlinks in the library grant package lists are active, so you can browse the materials online at length to see which package works best for you.

Click on the attachment icon below to open the guidelines.

All the books you have listed are terrific but at too high a level for my elementary school library. I use Mackin Books to provide me with good quality books that are sold to libraries at an average of 35% discount from retail. Here is the list of titles I am interested in ordering for my library. This list may be useful to others because it includes the reading and interest level, annotations, and reviews. I will also post a bibliography of elementary level books.

Here is my bibliography of books for an elementary school library collection. It is based on my own collection and books I want to order. I am sure there are many more out there that are worthwhile, but this is a start.

Money is tight all around, but I have a resource that I use for the classroom that has truly helped me to spread my money around.

I shop at the Strand Bookstore in New York City. Almost all books are half-off or less. Check them out to complete your personal or your school's library. I use Amazon as well, but the Strand is a great budget saver.
They have so many versions of the Tale of Genji. If you need several copies, they inform you as to how many of each book they have. They actually have a two-volume boxed set of the aforementioned tale, unless someone nabs it first.

They are on the web, too:

Enjoy, and try to control yourselves.
