GuestDo you think this is a lot of reading? I am up late reading. I am tired after a day of teaching. The readings are very intresting, but slow-going. What do you think?

GuestHello fellow Confucians. It is very important that we all know our place in society. We must have a moral ruler who will lead by example. Education is vital to the growth of our people. Our forefathers have paved the path in which we follow.
I look forward to proving our point tomorrow. The Mohists are so one dimensional. The Daoists so unfocused and confused. The Legalists, well I can't imagine people responding to such harshness.
Until tomorrow.....October 17, 2008 at 2:17 pm #31847Anonymous
GuestPlease...we Mohists understand people can be tamed and made good through devoted study and adherence to standards. You Confucians are too much into yourselves, into your families especially. We believe that universal love and cooperation can overcome the evil nature displayed by humans. Tomorrow you will prove that Confucians are far too provincial to offer hope for the masses.

GuestAs the master has said "I set my heart on the Way, base myself on virtue, lean upon benevolence for support and take my recreation in the arts." VII.6 Let Confucius words be our guide tommorrow.

GuestDottie:
While it may seem like a lot, it is repetitive as it reinforces the concepts.
And, as a legalist, I have to proffer that the reading the number of pages was mandated and therefore we must follow the specified requirements to hold true to the state's needs. That is the way of truth, knowledge and enlightenment -- follow your leaders.
😀
I do love the idea of having the students form groups and present their arguments, as we will do in our class.
Although the master may disagree with my school of thought.

GuestConfucianism is what the masses accept because it is what the masses knew to be the truth.

GuestI'm so sorry I missed this class I would have loved to hear everyone's points of view. It sounds like everyone really got into this lesson.
