I read about this horrible event at the Department of Water Building in Downtown Los Angeles a few weeks ago and it made my blood run cold.

The following is an excerpt from Wikipedia:

"Calle de los Negros refers to the location in Los Angeles California of a racially motivated riot on October 24, 1871, known as the Chinese Massacre of 1871, when a mob of over 500 Caucasians entered Los Angeles' Chinatown to attack and eventually murder Chinese-American residents of the city. The riots took place on Calle de los Negros, which later became Los Angeles Street." (www.wikipedia.com)[Edit by="rflores on Jul 30, 12:22:03 PM"][/Edit]
