How would you like to organize for the debate? I was thinking we'd might like to pick areas of specialization, as suggested. Some possible areas we might like to specialize in are: government, countering Confucius, education, family, children, warfare... Any suggestions or other ideas? Faynessa
That is a great idea. I am flexible, so we should probably get agreement on what areas everyone feels comfortable with. I am not sure how many Mohists there are.
Thanks for responding. I was beginning to wonder where everyone was. Do you have a particular area of interest? I'm interested in Mohism as a response to Confucianism or government. There should be four others. Clay asked that there be six per group.
Mohists, I just read Kami's post. I wrote in my previous post that I was interested in Mohism as a response to Confucianism but I would like to change that to how Mohists would respond to Legalism, Confucianism and Daoism. Faynessa
Are you willing to cover other areas? I would like to be prepared to argue on any front. I'll prepare for the other schools of thought and government and education. He may give us time to get together with our groups for final preparations. See you tomorrow.
Sorry for the late reply. My ancient computer finally agreed to cooperate with me today. If you need extra reading or info. on Mohism, read the info. and links on http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/mohism/ Don't worry, between the six of us, we will all be able to jump in and help each other out. After all, isn't that what makes a true debate most interesting??? With the reading we've done and the basic understanding of Mohist thoughts, we should be fine. =:O
