Each quarter we each receive the Education About Asia magazine in the mail... I always find these to be wonderful resources with many great ideas that we can use in the classroom with our students.
In the most recent volume, I read about a trivia game called Feilong (or Flying Dragon): The China Game, that has been used in many classrooms to lintroduce or reinforce learing about China. The reviewer of the game, Patricia Burleson, desribes the game as a trivial-pursuit style game that contains questions that are "well crafted and rich in content."
The article discusses the games three levels of difficulty, many appropriate for middle and high school age students. After reading through the review, it sounds like this game is an excellent way for students to test their knowledge after completing units of studying about Asia, China in particular. I remember talking with so many of you on our trip to China about the numerous ways that you teach your students... it seems that this would be a wonderful supplement to your curriculum!
This game was funded by a grant from the Freeman Foundation... and we all love those guys! I know you all receive the Education About Asia magazines as well, but can find more info about this game on the website: http://www.bethumpd.com/fechga.html
The cost is $35
