As China attracts immigrants from all over the world the system of rigid social control will be tested. Immigrants will want to practice their own customs and that may lead them to resist direction from the state. This in turn could encourage Chinese minority groups to revive their individuality even in defiance of prescription from the government. It will be a positive development for the world and for China, but it will require some adjustment of social protocols and customs in China.

At the same time Chinese will travel abroad, and when they return home they will bring new customs and new opinions that could contradict some of the existing ways. This too will disrupt the social framework in China. All in all being the top economic power will have its challenges for China.

This will be a very interesting turn for the policys in China. They are already over populated. I wonder what type of strict policys the government will develop, something like the one child policy? I do agree that China will have to change its customs because of the changes in society. Immigration will bring new beliefs and life styles. China will be demanded to adjust their protocols and be more welcoming to new ideas.

China and Africa have become major trading partners and as result there has been more and more African immigration to China, to the point that they have set up communities in China like the one in Guangzhou. Unfortunately, African immigrants have complained of discrimination and visa issues. It makes sense that Africans have made the decision to come to China and take advantage of their booming economy. But like most countries with newly arrived immigrants, China has had issues with Africans overstaying their visas and some wanting to bring their families to join them. Most African traders have had trouble obtaining opportunities when they first arrive, but some have managed to get a foothold in China’s wholesale clothing market. They buy cheap Chinese clothes and export it to Africa. As China continues to open up to the world, immigration is one of the issues they will have to contend with, so they must formulate an immigration policy that will treat immigrants fairly.
