    This incident was discussed a couple of times in class. An American student died under suspicious circumstances last year and there were hints of a government cover-up. At any rate Tomorrow night (Wed 2.9.06) on KNBC (4), one of their "investigative" reporters will be covering this death.

    would this cover-up be related to the Chinese government's view on making Chinese related news positive because of the upcoming Olympics or is it related to the need to censor any and everything?

    Probably a knee-jerk reaction. Governments of this type seem to need to be infallable. The reaction is somewhat like those of our politicians - first reaction is to lie! (Clinton - of course, he isn't the only one.)
