Over the past 10 years, I've dabbled in learning various elements of different religions. And, although, none appeal to me in their strictest form, I'm most intrigued by Buddhism. I find that it's the one that is least easily arguable.

Youtube has an interesting 4 part series (albeit long) about the Dalai Lama's 4 Noble Truths about how to become an enlightened human being. The first noble truth of suffering, the noble truth of the origin of suffering, the noble truth of the cessation of suffering, the noble truth of the path that leads to the cessation of suffering.

While the packages look different, I've found that most religions have some very common fundamental ideas. The ideas of suffering and overcoming it are not that far removed from the ideas of Christianity. In fact, C. S. Lewis writes a Christian account of "The Problem of Pain."

If you'd like to see the first part of the video, it's here:

I too have been intrigued by Buddhism. I have been following the conflict with the Tibetian people and the Chinese government closely. I was read an article about how the turmoil is causing the Indian people to feel uncomfortable for housing the Dalai Lama. Many of the people in India feel having the Dalai Lama in their country has hurt their relationship with China.
