SpectatorHi Folks,
I'm quite disappointed that no one is able to give us the average temperatures for Beijing for when we'll visit. We'll be there June 26-28.http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/ZBAA/2012/5/2/DailyHistory.html Go to this page and get us the answers. Tell us what the temperature is likely to be on July 7 when we reach Taipei. What is Chengdu typically like on the 4th of July?
(Congrats to Eddie - he found a great resource. I love the map. Have the rest of you checked it out?)

GuestI need to see things in fahrenheit. What I want to know is the humidity and smog levels!!!
Beijing- July 26th max temp 87 degrees, min temp 70 degrees fahrenheit.
Taipei - July max temp 89 to 90 degrees, min temp 82 degress. Mean relative humidity for an average year is recorded as 81.6% and on a monthly basis it ranges from 78% in July.
Chengdu, China - July is the hottest month. max 86, min 72. It rains a lot this month.

GuestYes, I did check out Eddie's suggested site. I, too, love the map. After viewing the precipitation map, I'd say we will be in for some rainfall.

GuestEchoing in the back of my mind has been the phrase "the four furnaces of China." I remembered Dr. Dube saying we would visit one--Chongqing--but I could not for the life of me remember the other "furnaces." I googled it, and they are Wuhan, Tianjin, and Nanchang. June through August weather is typically well-over 72F and rainy. The site said to bring light rainjackets, rubber shoes, and umbrellas; something we already know to do!

GuestAnd while we are on the subject of weather, I found the link for the website for the China Meterological Administration http://www.cma.gov.cn/en/. Be sure to click on the top tab that you would like the page in English, unless you prefer Mandarin. The page has links for weather warnings, forecasts, info on climate control, and breaking weather-related news.
