The last session of the East Asia Seminar was bittersweet. I gained a large amount of new knowledge that I desired from the beginning and I am glad that I was able to take part in such a wonderful opportunity.

Thank you to Dr. Dube and to all those who assisted and participated.

This class overall has definitely affected the way I approach these issues in my class. It becomes important to discuss the past and how it informs the future. So much of what we reflected on in the last class was inspired by the previous classes. This kind of long term viewpoint is what many of our students need to understand any kind culture.

And of course thank you to everyone including Dr. Dube for leading the class. The lectures were always interesting!

Thank you Dr. Dube for all the knowledge, wisdom and understanding you have dished out during our time together. I thouroughly enjoyed the course and was fascinated by the insigts you have shared. I now feel I have a little bit of a base to start from when addressing those standards that cover Asian topics.

At the closing session of the UTLA Spring 2012 East Asia-China Seminar, I have learned a great amount of information about history, culture, religion, people, philosophy, economy, society, economy, military interventions, important developments with current and future implications, etc. presented by Dr. Clayton Dube. It has been my privilege having attended his lectures. Dr. Dube is great teaching to teachers. My appetite for further knowledge about China and East Asia is now open and willing to share.
Many thanks to Dr. Clayton Dube, USC; to Dr. Samuel Yamashita, Pomona College, for his presentations on Japan; and to Xin Jiang, for her assistance.
