In the handout from Jennifer Jung-Kim there are several websites that she lists that have some valuable resources. The Columbia University Expanding East Asian Studies website http://www.exeas.org/ had a lot of information on syllabi and curriculum planning materials on East Asia. It has sections on teaching materials and resources, syllabi, film, and links to other sites that are filled with supporting materials. The Teaching Materials and Resources section has a LOT of material. To help you find something specific the website has materials sorted by category (economies, gender, philosophy/religion, government & politics, etc.), alphabetically, or by region/country. The resources cover all of Asia so there is stuff not only on China, Japan, and Korea, but also on India, Thailand, etc. There is a section on films that list several different films that could be used in teaching about Asia. The films section has a brief synopsis and many of the films also have questions or guides to help you in using the film to teach. The syllabi section has various courses and lists what the professors are using to teach those courses. While you probably won't teach the exact same course, it does give you some ideas on what can be used. I'm thinking about doing some activities where my students will look at gender in Asia and this website has given me several movies and readings to look at to gather information. This was very helpful to me because I had a rough idea of what I wanted to discuss, but wasn't sure of where to find the information and this website gave me specific places to look.
