I think it's interesting how Confucius teachings are still widely practiced in the Chinese culture today. Of the 4 schools of Philosophy, I see Confucianism the most among the Chinese, even here in the US. For example, the five relationships: father/son, husband/wife, older brother/younger brother, ruler/subject, friend/friend are still commonly practiced in Chinese families. I also see ancestor worship regularly, as well. When I go to my friends' houses, it's typical see to see large portraits of deceased grandparents hanging on the walls. When I go to the cemetery to put flowers on my grandfather's grave or my husband's grandmother and grandfather's grave, there are always Chinese families burning incense, bowing, bringing food to their ancestor's grave. It seems like Confucius' teachings have made a bigger impact on the Chinese culture than the other philosophies.
By the way, good job on the debate, group! I thought we did well. :o)
