For those of you who are intrigued by the Cultural Revolution in China, I recommend a book titled "Red-Color News Soldier. It is more of a picture book than anything else, that contains some secret or hidden images of this unique period of China's history. The book (outside) looks more like an oversized version of Chairman Mao's Little Red Book. The contents on the inside provide a history of the time period along with many photos from photojournalist Li Zhensheng (trying to capture a visual account of his experiences during this time), some that are dramatic, others that are graphic. For example, you will see many regarding the Red Guards, as well as the treatment of those arrested. Many of the images truly capture the essence from this time period. It may be hard to acquire, but you may want to check it out on amazon.com. I truly feel that this book provides an indispensable visual resource of the Cultural Revolution.

Thanks for the info. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I use visual and auditory aids all the time in my classroom because of my students with learning processing deficits. I will definitely look into this source. Keep em coming!!!
