I had been anxious to learn about Korea. Over the past five years, the area near where I teach - La Crescenta and Tujunga has been getting many new stores and restaurants with signs in Korean. Obviously, the number of Koreans is growing in our area. So learning about Korean history and culture was something I wanted. However, and I am reluctant to say this, I found this to be the least interesting of the sessions we have had. It seemed to me that we ran through the history with no real stopping for an important period or event...they were all equal. What I have noticed in other sessions is that while the lecturer is trying to cover a lot of ground, they stop and have a couple of areas they go into great detail. Those areas seem to be the hook that I remember. I did not get that from this lecture and I miss it.

The number of Korean students I have has also grown quite a bit. There was a lot of information we got that will help me to relate with these students.
