I took many notes this day. Pitelka share so much useful information that I plan to use in my class. I was very suprised by his information on the system of alternate attendance. I was shocked that 60% of the provinces gross income was spent by figure heads going to capital. He is very knowledgable about Janpanese society and did a great job both presenting the information and making it useful for the classroom. The visuals he used in his presentation were also very illuminating to the material. He did a great job in showing how Japan transitioned through shogun, samurai, being a closed country, revolution etc.
