I just read an article in JANE magazine about an African-American trying to get a teaching position in Asia and was denied based on her photo. I've done a little more research on it online. I thought it would make an interesting world civil rights comp/contrast lesson. We are studying the Enlightenment right now...
What a reminder to be grateful for the opportunities we all have here in the US.
