SpectatorHi Folks,
Let's use this section to discuss East Asia up to 1800. That's a giant subject and we ordinarily devote most of our NCTA seminars to this period. Feel free to raise questions and to draw linkages between these earlier periods and patterns or practices you see in operation today.I've attacked a pdf copy of a teaching guide I wrote a long time ago on Chinese philosophy. Some of you may find it useful (especially those teaching sixth grade). Please note that you are not expected to read this. You are expected to read the philosophy extracts in the seminar reader that you'll receive on Monday. I'll put them up as pdfs for those of you who are especially eager to get started.

SpectatorHi Folks,
These readings are required. We'll give you a print version in the seminar reader, but some might like to get started now.

SpectatorHi Folks,
You may be more familiar with the name Taoism. Daoism is the pinyin romanization more commonly used today. These readings are required. We'll give you a print copy in your seminar reader.July 21, 2009 at 7:35 am #30426clay dube

SpectatorThe reader includes the Ebrey selections. It does not include the teaching guide.
