can we begin with the art of a garden? asia seem to me to be well ahead of the west (partially due to the age difference). but to let the students know that gardens are serious enough to have a degree is architectural gardening might have a few of them changed. perhaps to let them know that there are theories that go behind the actual designs that are quite ancient, to just that fact of pointing out how many different shades of green their are, to the symbology of it is really interesting to say the least. then after discovering and discussing this, a fieldtrip to an asian garden or two would be in line for a sense of refinement as well as appreciation. to wake the eye up in order to wake the mind up whose heart has already been awaken.[Edit by="squinn on Jul 31, 9:53:47 PM"][/Edit]
