KeymasterHi all,
As the end of the seminar is approaching, I would like you to share how you know about our Senimar, from USCI website, our email, your coworker, or else?
We are trying our best to increase the visibility of our teaching training program, and to reach to a broader teacher population, who will get benefits from our program. Your input and suggestions will be of great value for our marketing.
Thanks!

GuestAn message from USChina came through our school district email. I beleive it went out to all of the teachers - but I know for sure that it came to all the middle school teachers. It sounded very interesting and IT HAS BEEN! I would reccommend this class to all the teachers I work with.

GuestI received a message through the district e-mail about the program. It must of been a mass message that went out to all LAUSD teachers. Then I spoke to a History teacher about the program and she began ranting and raving about it being such an awesome program. Knowing my interest in Asian history, I decided to apply. And yes I'll admit that the stipend did sweeten the deal.

GuestI got an email -- it did not go to any of the other teachers at my school. I kinda wondered about it myself - how did I get notified. I have been notified of other classes -- maybe even this one before -- but I felt this class had my "name on it." I wondered if I was notified because I went to USC - a long time ago?

GuestI got a district email too. Also, my friend took me to the last seminar so I was exposed to it before I received the emails. I think word of mouth works too as I'm bragging to my colleagues about how much fun I'm having with this seminar. Hope that helps!

GuestI learned about it from an email that came to my school email address. I applied because I was interested in China and Japan (the subjects I teach) and because the application was so easy. I've seen other classes/programs where I would have had to write essays and get letters of rec to be considered for the program. I think the best way to get teachers interested in the program is to keep emailing it through the school email. Maybe even send information to the different teacher's unions or department heads so they could spread the word and explain how you could earn more units etc.

GuestI received an email through my LAUSD account. At first because I saw "USC" I believed the program was related to CALIS-- a program I had participated in some years ago and really enjoyed. The reason I decided to participate in this seminar is because I have traveled to China but felt ignorant about the history and culture. Also the "nerd" in me wanted to just learn more about Asia.

GuestI attended the California Council for the Social Sciences Conference earlier this year. While in a meeting with the social justice committee one of the member mentioned she was going to China this summer because she had completed this program. I jumped at the opportunity and have commuting every week. Unfortunately the trip is unlikely to happen this year. I would however love the opportunity to take such a trip if the option becomes available. Its been a great learning experience for me, now instead of fearing the lesson I teach about Asia I am actually excited tell the kids all the little fun facts I have learned and feel confident when designing lessons.

GuestI found out about your program through an email that came via our District mail. I thought it would be a great opportunity to broaden my knowledge base on East Asia. Sometimes I feel so ignorant about East Asia and how they fit into our global economy, but after taking this seminar I feel so much more enlightened.

GuestMy co-worker told me about the class. I vaguely remember seeing the email for it but I just assumed I would be able to participate since I teach math. After she did some inquire, we learned that we could take the class. Maybe in the next email, you could stress that all disciplines are welcome.
We are also spreading the word about the class to our colleagues and telling them how great the program is and how much we are learning.June 8, 2010 at 2:51 am #28088Anonymous
GuestI received an e-mail that was generated throughout the Manhattan Beach Unified School District. It sounded too good to be true. I have really enjoyed this seminar, the lecturers and the support staff. I can appreciate all the work that has gone into presenting such an interesting forum. I just wish I could bring my friends!

GuestI got a mass email from our district but it was during the spring break, so I think that prevented alot of other teachers from taking it seriously. The email definitely helped. I am also telling other teachers about it now since I had such a great experience. My only suggetion would be to keep doing what you are doing. 😀

GuestI learned about this program when someone put something in my mailbox at school. I think mass emailing to all of the local school districts employees is the best way to get the word out![Edit by="eschlum on Jun 13, 1:49:59 PM"][/Edit]
