The L.A. Times, on Jan. 6, 2008, reported Xuan's story. In 2000 he quit the Supreme People's Court to fight for human rights because of what he saw as a top jurist.

---Lawyers beaten and dragged from the court if they challenged the Party's will.

---Officials tape a lawyer's mouth shut.

---that police tortured a prisoner to change his story...and then charged the lawyer with fabricating evidence!!!

---one man was executed for killing his wife who later showed up alive!

Beijing Lawyer Li Fang-ping saw a man sentenced to death for stealing a cellphone!

Couragous people like Xuan deserve the the support of all people of good will.[Edit by="mwhittemore on May 16, 3:17:04 PM"][/Edit]
