GuestThanks for the info, Venus. I have made an appt. with my Doc for letter of fitness and have an appt. on next week for my innoculations through Kaiser. I am glad you reminded us about the Travel Insurance so I will call my Member services at Kaiser and see what they have to say.

GuestVenus,
about the letter of fitness from my doctor - is there anything specific that needs to be stated in the letter, or is it just a sentence that says I am healthy to travel?
thanks!April 19, 2012 at 3:25 am #22455vjones
SpectatorJust a short one liner will work.

GuestKaiser, my insurance, indicated that I have evacuation coverage if "injured" while evacuating. Is this the type of coverage needed?

GuestI was quite concerned that I would not be able to get an appointment with my doctor for the letter of fitness at such a late date. Having not gone to see him since 2009, he would not write a statement of my fitness. BUT, they got me in for next week. Yay!

SpectatorAs I mentioned at orientation, we need to receive from you the following by May 18th:
1. Proof of international health insurance – copy of your insurance card
a. Please note that we’ll need proof that your own insurance will reimburse medical expenses abroad AND that it provides you with an evacuation insurance policy
b. If you’re insurance does not cover the above, then please purchase a travel gap insurance policy. A well-known vendor is HTH Worldwide - http://www.hthworldwide.com/insurance_families.html.2. Physician’s verification of fitness for travel
Please email these forms to me at [email protected] or fax: (213) 821-2382. You can also mail them to my attention to the address below.
