As searching the web for ways to incorporate China into my kindergarten classroom, I found this useful websites with great ideas for young learners. Activities are appropriate for children in grades kindergarten-2nd grade. The website includes simple art projects that represent ways China celebrates their traditions. Reproducibles and PDF's were included in the website to download a hard copy of the craft/activity of your interest. One simple activity they suggested was "set up and prepare". This is where traditionally, ones house is cleaned for anticipating the new year. This is practiced in the classroom where students also get prepared by cleaning the classroom by tidying up bookshelves, cleaning desks etc. Explaining to the students that this is a Chinese custom of cleaning up and tidying the house will get them prepared for the following activities introduced. What I liked about it was the links and related resources that took you to other websites to explore familiar topics.
