My visit to the Japanese American National Museum was quite fun! Aside from the parking issue (museum has no parking) it was good fun. There are many volunteers there to help you. I first visited the exhibit supporting visual artist, that I wouldn't recommend if you want to focus on Japan. Next I went up to the exhibit called Common Ground: The Heart of Community. This exhibit is great! For all the visual learners its amazing. I went through it and as I was viewing a model of the Manzanar internment camp, (which is very thought provoking), a volunteer came to talk to me. And he actually walked with me throughout exhibit giving all these insights. He was 2 when they had to go to Manzanar. I wasn't aware of how many camps there were nationwide and how some differed in the euphamisms given by the government. They actually have a barack from Montana in the exhibit that you can go in and see. My volunteer showed me his personal pictures from kindergarden in the camp as well as family pictures. Definitely a great place to enjoy
