Yesterday's class inspired me to watch the video of "Spirited Away." I don't think I would have understood it if it hadn't been for Morgan Piltelka's explanation that Miyazaki's themes are about the damages caused from industrialization and the use of an innocent young girl to help over-come them. Despite my difficulty following the plot, it was beautifully animated and I enjoyed it as much as any Disney film I have seem (as an adult). My imagination is just not what it used to be.
