One of the websites that I enjoy--and that my students also enjoy--is NEWSELA (https://www.newsela.com). Although it is not an East Asia-focused website, it is one that allows students to access news articles reflecting the world around them--not only national, but global as well. With tabs such as War & Peace, Science, Kids, Money, Law, Health, Arts, and Sports, students may search articles on topics that they may not only be familiar with, but may also have an interest in. What I have particularly enjoyed is affording them opportunities to read and reflect upon articles geared toward politics, as these may certainly be ones which will affect them later as they become adults. It's important for them to learn and to be aware.

With respect to The Korean Times website (http://www.koreatimes.co.kr), the site itself is set up in similar NewsELA fashion: tabs highlighting People, National, Money, Technology, Culture, Sports, Opinion, World, Issues, etc. And although these articles may be at reading levels above my students ability, they are still high-interest; and if the students work with each other and the teacher--annotating and collaborating together--these articles are an innovative way to build reading comprehension using nonfiction that is not only relevant but newsworthy as well. Students' views, when also incorporating international news sources, are then broadened.
