GuestI was fortunate to add the class on the second meeting you all had! My name is Eddie Lopez and I teach social studies at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles. I am currently teaching U.S. history, AP U.S. history, and International Law/Relations. This course on China will be an excellent opportunity to create a case study on current Chinese society for my International Law/Relations course.

Guestts so comfortable to see Familiar faces taking this workshop after the previous two. There is a common interest that pulls us to learn more about East Asia, and although the stipend is a grateful reward, we really are here because we want to. When this school year started, I was ready to give up the Chinese Culture Club, but weird things happen and suddenly a bunch of kids wanted it back, and where there is demand there is supply. When I received the invitation to join this workshop again, I had no doubts that this is what I need it to recharge my battery. The brand new Chinese Culture Club started and plans for field trips and fundraisers started. I’m happy to be back here.

I really like this class, because I get to add to my knowledge of Asia, especially China and I will hopefully continue to get ideas, strategies and information that I can use in my classroom.November 14, 2011 at 8:23 pm #21098Anonymous
GuestHello everyone. This is Steven Traylor signing in. I teach U.S. History at West Adams Preparatory H.S. I think this class is extremely valuable as a tool for bridging the gap between where my students are and what they need to know about east Asia today. I am constantly looking for ways to incorporate east Asian topics in my U.S. History classes.

GuestHello group! My name is Bill Vanderberg and I am a middle-school history teacher at Foshay Learning Center. This is my second year back in the classroom after being the Dean at Crenshaw for the prior 8 years. My co-worker "Qin Huang" tricked me into taking this seminar but I'm not mad at her - I'm enjoying it very much!
