    Hi there!

    My name is Dylis Becker.

I teach two periods of 6th grade ancient civilization, two periods of 7th grade medieval and early modern times, and one period of 6th grade p.e. at Chaparral Middle School. Catherine and I are teachers at the same school. I also run the Green Team Recycling Club on campus.

I am thrilled and honored to be a part of this study tour to China! I still cannot believe that I am actually going. My family, friends, co-workers, and students are very excited for me. Although my two daughters have second thoughts about me going so far away and to a place where I need to bring some toilet paper.

I look forward to getting to know you all and sharing our adventures in China and Taiwan.

Great GAME for learning Mandarin App called "Mindsnacks Mandarin" Really FUN and ADDICTIVE!! Also, Catherine, I just ordered a lightweight backpack from Magellons online that is on sale for $36.00 or thereabouts. (You had asked for me to let you know when I found one.) I'll let you know what I think when it arrives.

Wow! I read the itinerary earlier today and it sure does seem like we are in for some real treats. Again, I can’t begin to express how excited I am about this trip.

As an 11th grade U.S. History teacher at my school, I along with my colleagues teaching this subject are responsible for our students’ service learning project and I am happy to announce that that this year I have made the project’s focus Chinese-American Relations. My students seem to be really enjoying the content and activities. Next school year, after our trip, I’m certain I’ll have some much more to do with my students regarding China and Taiwan.
