I had to make up a session and I went to the Pacific Asia Museum yesterday. The outside looked like the homes and buildings that I saw in Japan. In the middle was a Koi Pond and those chinese balls of light. It was very nice. I was very surprised at how small the museum was. In all honesty, I wasn't really that impressed with the contents of the museum. There was a lot of pottery and it looked like things I have seen before and there wasn't that much written information to learn about the things that you were looking at. The silk road exhibit was nice. It helped me to better understand that concept that we learned in class. They had artifacts and goods that people would trade and this is how ideas and things transfered and spread. There were some Buddhist Munk robes. Those were interesting. I was hoping they were going to have those cool toilets like they have in Japan but alas, they did not. I'm glad I got to see this, I probably would not have every gone otherwise. Now I feel very cultured 😀

Thanks for sharing -- perhaps you might say a little more about the silk road exhibit. What did it focus on? What were the items that were traded? How old were those Buddhist robes? Were they intended to represent something about the transmission of religion?
