So sad the seminar is over. Now I have to find something new to do on Tuesday nights. Prior to this seminar I had very limited knowledge on East Asia. I'm glad and appreciative to be walking away with new gained knowledge on these fascinating countries. I enjoyed learning about the cultural revolution in China and their shift into where they are now. I will be keeping a closer eye on Asia and Asia-related news as a result of the seminar. Thank you Professor Dube and YingJia for everything! It was a pleasure meeting and learning with all of you; see you next time!

    Dear Colleagues,

Please post your reflections for the last session below. Please note that this is different from your seminar reflection essay (250-500 words) that discusses how you will incorporate East Asia into your teachings.

    Best,

From the last session I took away two main interesting points. First of all, I always try to take away something that I can use with my students. Since I teach Middle School, some of the more recent topics are not as easy to incorporate into Ancient or Medieval China. The debates that we had with religious beliefs was something that I might be able to do with my middle school students. I would provide them with modeling, sentence starters, and modifications. For my 8th graders I would like to discuss Nixon visiting China in the 70's, since we talk about presidential responsibilities.
