I agree that the level of poverty in N. Korea that we learned about was extremely depressing. It would have been great to have had more details about the embargo that most of the international community has had against this nation and the connections between their current levels of poverty.

Whatever South Koreas problems with democracy may be South Korea does not let these problems in excepting and understanding capitalism they seem to have observed all the ideas necessary to thrive in a capitalistic society. So if democracy is not their excactly their cup of a tea, as long as it doesn't interfere with business who cares.

Thank you for the idea to write my curriculum project on the different versions of Cinderella! I also am intrigued now to watch YMCA Basketball. I do have a question about the sequence of Economic Development. How can this information of different uprisings, and presidency be conveyed to younger students? It was interesting for me to learn of this sequence of events, but I am struggling to take anything back to my 3rd grade class on this lecture.

I was shocked to learn about the extreme poverty that exists in North Korea. I can't believe that the government is allowing its citizens to go hungry. What is even more disturbing is that we do not know the extent of people's suffering due to the government's secrecy and repression.
